There are not very many humans
in whose presence I can spend more than 10 minutes without going absolutely insane. Being extremely non-girly myself, there are even fewer females of the species I find myself able to interact with and still resist handing out the verbal equivalent of a slap upside the head!
This part of the site is dedicated to the women who have passed muster. All have survived knowing me with their feelings of affection for me still intact, in spite of my
often harsh-sounding words. Every one of these ladies is, in her own way, a force to be reckoned with, a goddess in her own right. Many of them consider themselves
"outsiders" in some way; for their politics, religion, refusal to conform, chosen profession, aggressive un-ladylike
behavior, or outspoken bluntness. In throwing off the yoke of our culture's expectations, they have come to know and embrace the Wild Woman inside, and in doing so have learned to fight tooth and nail to survive and thrive...without being afraid to bare their fangs, or to use them when necessary.
I believe people come into our lives for a reason, and mine is richer for having known these women. We have shared laughter, tears, fears, monumental events, hopes and
dreams. Some for many years, and others just a few but all have a special place in my life and are important to me. They are artists, entertainers, poets, writers, and business
women. They are lovers, mothers and wives. They are intelligent, witty, beautiful, successful and strong. I am proud to call them my friends. |
12/2/99 - This area is still under construction. Most of the pages are incomplete, and some are yet to be created. At the moment most of the pages
that do
exist are little more than one picture and a little bit of text that's mostly a placeholder. Eventually each will have more links and whatnot. I've also changed HTML editors, so if some of the pages look a little wonky, it's because I haven't redone them yet! But for now, I present to you SOME of the Wonderful Wild Women in my life!
